About Us

Our daughter hates when I tell this story but tough beans because this is how the Waukesha Zombie Walk came to be.

One night in October of 2009 our then 6-year-old daughter (the little girl on the far right of the photo in the background) was watching the news with us and saw something on the what happening this weeks kind of segment. It was a zombie pub crawl. She turned to mom and had this little conversation...

6-year-old: "Can we go?"
Mom: "I am sorry honey but you have to be 21-years-old to go to that, so you aren't old enough yet."
6-year-old: "We should have something like that here and have it so everyone can come to it even little ones like my brother."
Mom: " What a great idea. Let me put that on MySpace and see if anyone would be interested in it. I think we should gather goods for the food pantry. What do you think?"
6-year-old: "Yes but you can't forget about the animals too, mommy!"
Mom: "Oh yes baby, we must not forget about the animals. Ok, so it will be for HAWS and the Food Pantry of Waukesha County."

So we posted it on MySpace and we caught the eye of someone at Waukesha Tattoo Company who loved the idea. They offered for us to have basecamp (where we gather to sign in and start the walk) right in front of their building. Then in October of 2010, we had our first-ever Waukesha Zombie Walk.

We no longer accept food donations due to a few bad eggs that decided to give us food that was over a year old.  When contacting the charities on the matter, they said they can get more for $1 so donating money is better. So we donate 100% of the proceeds from the walk to charities, they each get half.  Cash ONLY please, owning a local business I know taking checks can cause issues so we are only taking cash at this time.
